The West German ceramic vase was made in the 1960s and is of German manufacture.
An impressive, tall vase made from vintage German ceramics, finished in deep brown tones typical of the era. The entire piece is covered in a glossy glaze in shades of cognac and chocolate, with a subtle melange that lends the surface a refined depth. Its greatest feature is the decorative structure – vertical bands with relief, convex ‘eyes’/medallions, which bring to mind the brutalist aesthetic and organic design of the 1960s and 1970s. The form is slender and elegant, with a distinctly accentuated top – the vase looks beautiful as a standalone piece, but works just as well in an arrangement with tall branches or dried grasses. This is an item that warms up a room and instantly adds character – perfect for mid-century modern, loft and retro spaces, but also for contemporary interiors that need a strong, authentic accent. A very distinctive piece of West German ceramics – its large size and bold texture make it an ideal decorative piece for display.
