Beautiful bronze figure representing a peasant of Indochinese origin. The man wears modest clothing, characteristic of sculptures that focus on portraying rural life and the manual labor of the population. The wheelbarrow is a traditional element of Asian culture, used to transport food such as rice or other agricultural products. Specifically, it appears to be of Vietnamese origin, thanks to the Non la (traditional palm leaf hat). Non la have been part of the daily life of Vietnamese people, and their image is represented in all kinds of objects and artistic manifestations. Vietnamese people feel very attached to the Non la, especially women, as it was an indispensable element of their traditional attire.
