"L'Armée Du Crime", Published in February 1944 by the Centre d'Études Antibolcheviques (Under Occupation).
• Historical Context: This brochure was distributed at the same time as the famous
"Affiche Rouge".
It was an antisemitic and xenophobic propaganda tool orchestrated by the occupier to discredit the resistance fighters of Missak Manouchian's group.
• Documentary Importance: This 14-page booklet is one of the rare sources of information on the trial of the 23 resistance fighters of the Affiche Rouge, whose official archives are very incomplete.
• Condition and Provenance: The document is in exceptional condition, with a luxury half-chagrin binding.
It belonged to Jean-Marie-Pierre Daul, a member of the Free French Forces
(FFL) and a resistance fighter.
In summary, it is a major collector's item linked to the history of the French Resistance, whose memory was recently honored by the entry of Missak and Mélinée Manouchian into the Panthéon in February 2024.
