This extraordinary wall lamp is a typical example of the Brutalist style, which Brakelmann & Becker celebrated in several variations. The lamp is in excellent, undamaged condition. The two large ceramic reliefs, in a green/brown palette, are mounted on a black slate base and create a fantastic play of light when illuminated. This lamp makes a real statement, more sculpture than light fixture. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
The German manufacturer Brakelmann & Becker from Arnsberg became known during the 1970s for its brutalist designs of wall lamps combining ceramic with slate or other natural materials. This lamp was also designed and produced in the 1970s. It represents the largest version of this model series, featuring two large mirrored bulbs.
