Product description
Bookcase with Drop-Down Cabinet, Denmark, 1960s
This elegant Danish bookcase combines open shelving with concealed storage in a design that is both practical and beautifully proportioned. The clean lines, warm teak and restrained detailing reflect the timeless qualities that define Scandinavian furniture from the mid-century period.
Two generous open shelves provide ample space for books, ceramics or decorative objects, while the lower drop-down cabinet conceals a thoughtfully arranged interior with shelves and vertical dividers. Originally intended for versatile household storage, it is equally suited to records, documents, glassware or bar accessories today. A sculpted handle integrated into the flap adds a subtle design detail, while the contrasting wood tones inside provide an unexpected visual accent.
Raised on elegant tapered legs, the cabinet maintains the light, floating appearance that characterises the finest Danish furniture of the era.
