Product description
Here is a ceramic bonbonnière designed by the French artist Jean Marais. This piece dates from the 1970s, a period during which Marais dedicated himself to pottery in his Vallauris workshop. It is representative of his sculptural work and his exploration of forms and textures.
Made of ceramic, this bonbonnière is distinguished by its raw-looking textured enamel, in dark tones of black and brown. The piece features two small handles and a matching lid, and the artist's signature, "Jean Marais", is incised on the base, attesting to its authenticity and its origin from Vallauris, a renowned center of French ceramics.
The object retains its artisanal character and the patina of time, bearing witness to its history and manual craftsmanship. The interior finish features a smoother enamel, creating a contrast with the rough outer surface.
This bonbonnière is a collector's item that will find its place on a console, a shelf or a coffee table. It fits particularly well into Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist style interiors or in a decor that values unique handcrafted pieces.
