Product description
This is a traditional carnival mask from Bolivia, made from steeldrum steel, spray painted and decorated with wool. It represents Jukumari (spectacled bear). The Jukumari mask represents the Andean spectacled bear and is a famous, playful trickster character in Bolivian folk dances like the Carnival of Oruro. Bought at a mask making workshop in La Paz (Bolivia) where they rent out the masks for use during festivities. This mask is a children's head size. The mask is used and not made for tourist trade.
