Product description
Large Art Deco Serving Dish – Boch Frères Keramis
Design by Raymond Chevalier
Belgium, ca. 1930s
This striking large serving dish is a fine example of Belgian Art Deco ceramics produced by Boch Frères Keramis. Designed by Raymond Chevalier, one of the most recognizable designers associated with the manufactory, the piece perfectly reflects the decorative richness and structured elegance of the Art Deco period.
The dish features a generously scalloped, faceted form with a strong architectural presence, softened by an abundant hand-painted floral decoration. Stylized roses in deep burgundy tones are combined with vivid blue, green, and ochre accents, creating a lively yet harmonious composition. The octagonal well, highlighted by a soft green border, adds depth and rhythm to the design while emphasizing the geometric sensibility typical of the 1930s.
Both decorative and functional, this large-format dish was intended as a statement piece for the table or sideboard. Its scale, refined color palette, and expressive decoration make it a particularly attractive example of Boch Frères’ Art Deco production and of Raymond Chevalier’s distinctive decorative language.
A highly decorative and collectible piece, ideal for interiors with a taste for bold Art Deco ceramics or as a standout object in a curated collection.
