Product description
Rare, superb Limoges porcelain vide-poche with white enamel on deep kiln blue, mid-20th century work, circa 1940-1960. Stylized catfish decoration accompanied by a starfish and seaweed, treated in white reserve on a cobalt background in a very graphic Japonisme style. The quality of the drawing and the technique could attribute it to Marcel Chaufriasse, with the originality that it is an uncommon subject for the artist. Free and slightly hollow shape. Unsigned. Length 20cm, width 13cm, height 3.5cm. Very good general condition, no cracks or chips, to note numerous but light scratches from use on the bottom, more or less discreet depending on the lighting. Approximately 300gr.
