Elegant and distinctive, this decorative ewer fully belongs to the world of 1960s interiors, when glass, brass, and free-flowing lines combined in objects intended as much for home beautification as for utility. Its bulbous body is crafted from a beautiful pale blue, almost aquatic glass, enlivened by a crackled decoration that runs throughout the material. These fine, irregular patterns seem trapped within the glass, lending it a particularly alluring depth when light passes through. The gilded brass mounting truly transforms the piece. The widely flared foot provides a stable base, while the neck extends towards a spectacular spout, long, slender, and slightly curved. The handle, intentionally thin and unadorned, highlights this silhouette without weighing it down. The ensemble thus plays on a highly successful contrast between the generous, transparent roundness of the glass and the almost graphic line of the metal. Depending on the angle from which it is viewed, the ewer completely changes its appearance, sometimes delicate, sometimes almost sculptural. The piece retains the natural marks of its history. The brass shows an antique patina, with traces of oxidation, small pitting, and signs of use particularly visible on the spout. This patina beautifully complements the object's antique character. The glass, for its part, retains all its brilliance and its very beautiful crackled decoration. The underside of the foot also retains its old protective felt, now marked by time.
