Product description
This wooden piece of furniture is a characteristic example of Dutch Art Deco design from the period 1920-1930. The design shows the strong, architectural lines typical of the Hague School, an influential movement within early Dutch modernism. The cabinet is made of wood with a warm, brown finish and features a protective glass plate on the top. With dimensions of 75 cm high, 45 cm wide and 54 cm deep, it has a compact yet striking presence. The construction is special, with a cantilevered upper part above a series of open compartments, creating a dynamic and functional silhouette. Although an exact attribution is not possible, the style is reminiscent of the work of designers such as Hendrik Wouda and furniture manufacturer Pander & Zn. The furniture is in good condition consistent with its age, with an authentic patina that enhances the character of the piece. The original finish has largely been preserved, contributing to its historical value and appearance. Thanks to its modest size, this cabinet is versatile, for example as a side table, small bookcase or as a standalone object in a hall or living room. It fits perfectly into interiors with a love for design history, vintage and the specific aesthetic of Dutch Art Deco.
