Product description
An iconic table lamp designed by Matteo Thun for the Italian manufacturer Bieffeplast. This piece is an excellent example of postmodern design, known by the model name 'Valigetta', which is Italian for briefcase. The lamp is made with a grey lacquered metal casing, accented by a chromed handle that enhances its portable aesthetic. The light is diffused by a ribbed glass block, creating a warm and atmospheric glow. Produced in Italy, as indicated on the original label, this design embodies the playful and functional spirit of the Memphis design movement, of which Thun was a co-founder. In very good vintage condition, the lamp shows character consistent with its age and use. The overall structure and finish are well preserved, and the lamp is fully functional. The design is both a light source and a sculptural object. This 'Valigetta' lamp is a versatile piece that can serve as a desk lamp, accent lighting on a sideboard, or as a striking decorative element in an eclectic or 80s-inspired interior.
