Product description
Restored,
This is a fine example of a Biedermeier commode, crafted from richly figured wood veneer. The piece is defined by its elegant form, which balances the warm tones of the wood with the striking contrast of ebonized architectural columns. Constructed in the early 19th-century German or Austrian tradition, this chest of drawers features four drawers for ample storage. The top drawer is straight-fronted, while the three lower drawers present a gracefully curved facade. The entire piece is finished with a high-gloss French polish that accentuates the bookmatched veneer patterns on the drawer fronts and sides. It is adorned with circular brass pulls and keyhole escutcheons, characteristic of the period. The commode presents in excellent condition, consistent with its considerable age. It has been well-preserved, retaining its structural integrity and the deep lustre of its finish. The combination of the warm wood grain, the dark columns, and the metallic hardware gives the piece a distinguished and authentic character. As a versatile piece of furniture, this commode would serve as an elegant focal point in a bedroom, a sophisticated storage solution in a dining area, or a statement piece in an entryway. Its timeless design allows it to integrate seamlessly into both classical and contemporary interiors.restord
