Original Art Deco Side table with elegant Portoro marble top (1930s/40s)
Description:
For sale is this exceptionally elegant, original Side table from the Art Deco era (approx. 1930s/1940s). A true statement piece for lovers of high-quality vintage and design classics.
Special design features:
• Marble top: The absolute highlight is the inlaid, thick natural stone slab. It is an exclusive, deep black marble (Nero Portoro style) with a fascinating, lively grain of golden, creamy white, and brown veins/breccia.
• Craftsmanship: The apron directly under the tabletop and the legs are elaborately fluted (grooved), which gives the table its typical geometric, pure Art Deco structure.
• Functionality: Below the tabletop is a beautifully curved intermediate shelf, which gives the piece of furniture additional elegance and practical storage space.
Condition:
The table is in a remarkably good and well-maintained original condition. The noble wooden frame is stable and shows hardly any visible signs of wear. The marble top has a wonderful shine; on the outermost edge, there is a minimal, age-related unevenness/small chip (hardly noticeable, see detail photo), which does not detract from the authentic character of this historical piece of furniture.
A beautiful original object that fits perfectly into modern Mid-Century, Eclectic, or classic interior styles
