About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This Highboard is a representative example of post-war German furniture design, created by Dieter Wäckerlin for Behr in the 1960s. The piece is characterized by its minimalist design language and high-quality craftsmanship, typical of Wäckerlin's designs, securing its place in design history.
Crafted from teak veneer, the body rests on a delicate, black-lacquered metal frame, giving the furniture a floating lightness. With a considerable width of 248 cm, this Highboard offers generous storage space behind handleless doors, emphasizing its clear, uninterrupted lines. The warm, vertical grain of the teak wood adds an organic and inviting touch to the strict geometric form.
The furniture piece is in good condition, consistent with its age and history. The surfaces show an authentic patina, which emphasizes the character and originality of the design. The construction is solid and fully functional, a testament to the durable quality of Behr furniture.
As a functional yet sculptural element, this Highboard is perfectly suited for a living room or dining room. It blends seamlessly into Mid-Century Modern interiors, as well as contemporary or eclectic settings, offering a stylish storage solution.
The Highboard weighs approx. 100 kg.
3 pins that hold the shelves are missing. It never bothered me. Because the shelves hold even without them!
