About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a hand-carved wooden sculpture depicting a Javanese man. The piece has an authentic appearance due to the traditional clothing and characteristic headdress.
The sculpture is entirely made of wood and hand-painted in a palette of black, cream, and golden-yellow accents. Details, such as the sarong and jewelry, are carefully elaborated and give it a decorative character. The style is unmistakably Asian and evokes the atmosphere of Indonesia.
The overall condition is good, with a clear patina that contributes to the charm and vintage feel of the object. The traces of time and use tell a story and give the sculpture a unique character. This is an object with a lived-in soul.
This sculpture is an interesting decorative element for a dresser, a bookshelf, or as part of a collection. It fits well into an eclectic, bohemian, or worldly interior.
