About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This bedside lamp, produced by Polam in Italy during the 1950s, exemplifies the refined utilitarianism of mid-century European lighting design. The piece features a distinctive ribbed glass shade with a textured, foliate-patterned rim, offering a compelling contrast between smooth and tactile surfaces.
The lamp is constructed with a white glass shade suspended from a curved metal arm, which is anchored to a circular metal base. The adjustable brass joint at the shade allows for directional lighting, making it highly functional for reading or focused illumination. The metal components exhibit a patinated finish, reflecting its mid-century origins.
The piece remains in good condition, retaining its original character and structural integrity. The glass shade is intact, and the metal base and arm display a natural patina consistent with age and use.
This table lamp is well-suited for a bedside table, desk, or console, complementing interiors that appreciate vintage Italian design and mid-century modern aesthetics.
