Product description
Finely detailed oil painting on canvas, depicting a group of Vietnamese workers during the rice harvest. In a vast golden-yellow field, men and women with traditional conical hats are busy threshing rice, rendered in lively, rhythmic brushstrokes.
The artist Sy Nguyen managed to capture the warm atmosphere and tropical light of the Vietnamese countryside with coarse, textured paint application. The work shows a harmonious composition of movement and tranquility, where the changing postures of the figures create a natural rhythm in the undulating grain.
The paint is thickly applied, with relief that gives depth to the stalks, and shows a subtle aging sheen appropriate for the period. The signature “Sy Nguyen” is clearly legible in the lower left in red/orange paint.
The painting is framed with its original wooden frame with green patina and gold accent, entirely in the style of the sixties-seventies, which gives the work a warm and authentic appearance.
