The AC collection is one of B&B Italia's defining lines. Antonio Citterio designed the AC Lounge sofa as part of an entire furniture family that bears his initials. Characteristic of the design is its calm, almost architectural formal language: a clearly defined volume resting on slender cast aluminum legs, creating the optical illusion that the sofa hovers above the floor. The fine button tufting on the back cushions references classic upholstery craftsmanship and translates it into a modern line. The seat height of 39 cm is lower than many current sofas — typical of the Italian lounge tradition, which invites relaxation. Construction and Materials: At 217 cm wide, the sofa is designed for medium to large living rooms. The depth of 90 cm provides generous seating space. For the AC collection, B&B Italia uses thick aniline leather, which is among the highest quality upholstery materials in the furniture industry and is particularly soft and natural to the touch.
