Rare desk set consisting of a desk and a Fagus chair. The Fagus chair was designed by Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius for the Fagus factory in 1922/23. This version dates from the 1970s. The desk is by an unknown designer, but was purchased as a set at the time and is perfectly coordinated in style and wood type.
The Fagus chair, with its recessed armrests and straight backrest, has a strict appearance and almost compels an upright sitting posture. The four wooden legs are staggered: the back legs support the backrest, while the front legs, along with the protruding armrests, project freely into the room. Minimalist elegance and a small piece of Walter Gropius's architecture, linear and constructive.
The whole is in beautiful vintage condition with a suitable light patina.
