Product description
This is an industrial stool produced by the German manufacturer Maquet, dating from the 1950s. The piece is a clear example of functionalist design, drawing its aesthetic principles from the Bauhaus movement, which prioritised utility and clean lines. The stool is constructed with a durable, chrome-plated metal frame that forms a stable tripod base. Its height is adjustable via a central screw mechanism, a feature that underscores its practical origins, likely in a medical or workshop setting. The round, padded seat is upholstered in a dark green vinyl or Skai leather, finished with black piping. The base is fitted with black rubber feet, one of which bears the manufacturer's mark. This vintage piece presents in a well-preserved condition, consistent with its age and history of use. The materials have acquired a character that reflects their authenticity, and the stool remains structurally sound and fully functional. The original components, from the upholstery to the chrome base, appear to be intact. The stool's minimalist and utilitarian form makes it a versatile addition to a range of interiors. It would function effectively as seating in a home office, an artist's studio, or as a distinctive accent piece in a space with an industrial, Mid-Century Modern, or minimalist decor. Dimensions: - height 43–62 cm (adjustable) - width 42 cm - depth 42 cm - weight 3.5 kg
