This is the Butterfly armchair, a design by Gerard van den Berg for the Dutch manufacturer Montis. The furniture is a celebrated example of Dutch design from the 80s, known for its minimalist frame and innovative, hammock-like seat. This frame is supplied without a cushion. The chair has a slender frame of black coated metal, which forms a stable and elegant base. The base is made from a single piece of perforated black textile, stretched over the frame and closed with a zipper. This construction provides a surprisingly comfortable and slightly springy seating experience, where the seat conforms to the body. This item is in good condition.
