About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This iconic Barcelona armchair and matching ottoman represent a masterpiece of modern design, characterized by its unmistakable elegant silhouette and high-quality materials. The timeless design, originally conceived for the 1929 International Exhibition, continues to be a symbol of luxury and refinement.
Crafted from a polished chrome-plated steel frame, the armchair and ottoman are upholstered in richly patinated brown leather, crafted using the classic capitonné technique. The cushions are supported by leather straps that harmoniously intertwine with the metal frame, ensuring comfort and stability. The combination of leather and metal gives this set a sophisticated and durable look.
The set is in good overall condition, displaying a natural patina that adds character and authenticity to the piece. The leather retains its original softness, while the steel frame maintains its luster, a testament to the quality of its construction and care over time.
Ideal for enhancing a contemporary living room or professional office, this set fits perfectly in Midcentury Modern or industrial-style environments. Its dramatic presence makes it a focal point in any space, offering an invitation to relax with a touch of design history.
Please note: the leather color of the ottoman is slightly lighter than the armchair, evidently exposed to more sun.
