Mona Lisa With Gun Bomb Love, also known as Bomb Hugger or Bomb Girl, is an early Banksy screen print. The image of a girl embracing a deadly weapon has become iconic and explores the dichotomy of love and war—a subject the artist has created a number of works about. The first version was created in 2001 as a mural in East London and appeared in Banksy's book Banging Your Head Against A Brick Wall. Banksy is believed to have been born around 1974 in Bristol, England. He became known for his provocative, stenciled pieces in the late 1990s. Banksy is the subject of a 2010 documentary, Exit Through The Gift Shop, which explores the relationship between commercial art and street art. Type of work: Lithograph on handmade paper.
