About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an authentic Art Deco decanter manufactured by the Belgian glass factory Booms Glas, also known as 'De Rupel'. The piece is a characteristic example of production from the interwar period, valued for its sleek geometric design and refined finish.
The decanter is made of deep black hyalith glass, a type of glass that was popular during the Art Deco period due to its intense, opaque color that gives a luxurious appearance. The spherical body is hand-decorated with horizontal golden bands, which accentuate the stylized silhouette. This type of decoration is typical of De Rupel's 'Kristallier' series, confirming the authenticity and origin of the object.
The object is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age and use. The glass has retained its deep, glossy color, and the golden decoration is largely intact. Part of the original 'Kristallier' paper label is still present on the surface, which is a valuable detail for collectors and underscores the historical value of the piece.
This decanter is an elegant decorative object that adds a touch of historical sophistication to any interior. It functions excellently as a small vase for a single flower or as a standalone sculptural element on a dresser, side table, or in a display cabinet.
