Large version (Model 233) of the Atollo table lamp, designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977 for Oluce.
The design received the Compasso d'Oro (Golden Compass) award in 1979 in recognition of its design and innovative concepts.
This is an early production example of the lamp. It is constructed from white gloss-lacquered metal and consists of three geometric shapes: a cylindrical base, a conical top, and a hemispherical dome shade. The design provides indirect, downward illumination. The underside of the shade houses a three-bulb cluster attached to a central vertical rod.
The lamp is in very good vintage condition. The white lacquered finish retains its original gloss across the body and shade, with no damage to the lacquer.
