Magnificent Vintage Asian Soapstone Figurine - Bird and Flower (16cm)
Description: A very pretty little sculpture with Asian inspiration, ideal for adding a Zen, vintage, or cabinet of curiosities touch to your decor.
It depicts a magnificent bird (probably a phoenix, a symbol of grace) perched amidst a detailed floral setting. The carving is fine and delicate.
Material: Soapstone (also known as steatite). This is a natural stone with superb beige, ochre, and slightly pinkish hues.
A lovely contrast exists between the delicate carving of the bird and the dark, "raw rock" style base.
Approximately 16 cm high x 8 cm wide.
