A Danish shelving unit from the 1960s, manufactured by Hjørnebo. This piece exemplifies the Scandinavian design philosophy of combining visual lightness with considered functionality — the compact frame resting on slender angled legs creates an impression of hovering above the floor, lending airiness to any interior.
The construction consists of a rectangular ash-veneered body with an adjustable shelf dividing the interior space. Warm, light-toned wood contrasts effectively with the dark back panel and the black-painted splayed legs. This approach was typical of Danish modernism: angled legs provide both dynamic visual appeal and structural stability while maintaining a sense of lightness.
