About The Piece
This captivating 80x60 cm original work is a dynamic exploration of movement and action on stage, deeply inspired by the classical grace of Edgar Degas. However, this inspiration is propelled into entirely new territory through a groundbreaking original technique called Anirealism—a style that transcends traditional realism by lifting the subject off the canvas.
The core theme of the artwork is a visceral blend of theatrical motion and restless passion. Through Anirealism, the viewer is invited to literally feel the textures and the garments of the figures depicted. By intricately weaving together an unexpected array of tactile materials—including cardboard, stones, raw metal, paper, and delicate fabrics—alongside rich oil and tempera colors, the piece achieves a striking, three-dimensional topography. It masterfully balances the raw, industrial nature of its physical components with the soft, dreamlike elegance of the dancers, capturing a fleeting moment of intense, passionate performance.
Cinematic Provenance
Beyond its technical brilliance, the painting carries a touch of modern intrigue. The piece recently gained quiet notoriety when it was specifically scouted and rented for a prominent movie production filming on location in Vienna. Its sophisticated, highly textured presence on set was so commanding that it reportedly caught the eye of the film's renowned lead actor, who personally inquired about adding it to their private collection.
