Nicolaas Billiau, artist name Billio NIC, was born in Ypres, Belgium in 1950. He is a sculptor and painter who uses very distinctive forms with very vivid colors. All of his artworks are hand-painted and are all hand-made, one of a kind pieces. Polyester fiberglass also known as "poly sculpture," a term invented by Oscar Permeke, is what most of Billio NIC's sculptures are made of. Animals and women are what seem to inspire Nicholas Billiau the most. In the past four years, Billio NIC's artworks have doubled in value. About 40 percent of his artworks are sold in Belgium and about 40 percent find their way to the Netherlands.
