About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A swivel armchair by the Dutch manufacturer Artifort, upholstered in leather. This design is characteristic of the Space Age aesthetic for which the brand became known in the 60s and 70s, with a flowing, organic shape and a comfortable seat. The armchair is fully upholstered in leather in a light, neutral color that is halfway between beige and cream. The seat and backrest feature horizontal stripes that enhance comfort and visual texture. It rests on a stable, white-lacquered metal trumpet base that allows for a smooth swivel movement, a signature of designer Geoffrey Harcourt for Artifort. The overall condition of the armchair is consistent with its age and use. The leather has developed a lived-in character and patina, which contributes to the vintage look of the furniture. The construction is solid and the swivel function works properly. This compact lounge armchair is an excellent addition to a seating area, reading room, or bedroom. Its timeless design fits well within various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern and eclectic to a contemporary interior that appreciates a design classic.
