About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
The Artifort F588 armchair, designed by British designer Geoffrey Harcourt, is an iconic example of post-war European furniture design. This specific model combines an organically shaped seat shell with a sleek, swivel trumpet base, resulting in a silhouette that is both sculptural and functional.
This version is upholstered in supple black leather, creating a refined contrast with the equally black metal swivel base. The chair's construction, with its characteristic deep seat and wide backrest, is designed to offer optimal comfort. The design reflects the Space Age aesthetic of the 1960s and 1970s, a period in which Artifort made an international name for itself with innovative and progressive furniture pieces. A matching black leather cushion is included for extra support.
The armchair is in good condition, with the leather having developed a natural patina befitting its age and use. The swivel base functions properly, and the overall structure has remained solid and intact. This piece of furniture comes into its own perfectly in a modern or eclectic interior, where it can serve as a striking centerpiece in a living room or study. The timeless design and neutral black color scheme make it a versatile addition to various spaces.
