About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
An authentic three-seater sofa by Artifort, designed by the influential Kho Liang Ie. This piece of furniture is a representative example of Dutch design from the mid-twentieth century, known for its clear lines and functional elegance. The C638 model is a celebrated design within the Artifort collection and design history.
The sofa rests on a minimalist metal sled base with a chrome finish, creating a floating and light appearance. The seat and backrest are upholstered in a dark grey, suede-like textile that feels soft to the touch. Characteristic of this design is the button tufting, which adorns both the seat and backrest and creates a subtle graphic pattern.
This piece is in very good condition and has been professionally re-upholstered in the past, making the upholstery fresh and contemporary while retaining its original character. The construction is solid, and the sofa retains its original shape and comfort, a testament to the durable quality for which Artifort is known.
With its timeless aesthetic, this Kho Liang Ie sofa seamlessly fits into various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern to contemporary minimalist. It is a functional and refined piece of furniture that offers both comfort and a strong design statement in a living room or office space.
