About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the Artemide Tolomeo Grande floor lamp, an iconic design by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina. This specific model is the enlarged version of the award-winning Tolomeo table lamp, which makes a statement with its scale while retaining its characteristic elegance and functionality.
The structure of the lamp is made of polished aluminum, with an advanced system of balanced arms and springs that ensure smooth and precise positioning of the light. The large, conical shade is made of a cream-colored, parchment-like fabric, which diffuses a warm and soft light. The heavy, round aluminum base provides stability, even when the arm is fully extended.
This Tolomeo Grande is in excellent condition, retaining its original finish and functionality. The design is a prime example of Italian industrial design and won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 1989. It is a timeless piece that finds a place in both classic and modern interiors.
Due to its imposing size and adjustability, this floor lamp is ideal as a reading lamp next to an armchair or sofa, or as atmospheric lighting over a dining table or workspace. It adds an architectural element to any space, from a living room to an office or studio.
