Product description
This Aton Terra floor lamp was designed by Ernesto Gismondi, the founder the Artemide. The lamp is a great example of 1980s Italian design, renowned for its fusion of functionality and minimalist aesthetics. Its slender profile and adjustable features make it a versatile and timeless piece of lighting.
The structure consists of a metal shaft and a round base, both finished in a brushed silver tone, offering stability and a modern look. The lamp head is both height-adjustable along the shaft and swivelling, allowing for precise light control. Fitted with a halogen bulb and a floor-mounted dimmer, the lamp offers variable light intensity, ranging from bright task lighting to soft ambient lighting. The lamp was manufactured in Italy, as indicated on the manufacturer’s label.
Overall, the lamp is in very good condition, consistent with its age and use. The original structure and finish are well preserved, and the lamp is fully functional, including the dimming mechanism.
The original dimmer switch was faulty and has been professionally repaired; it has been replaced with a new one. The new dimmer is easier to access - on the floor. It retains the authentic character of a vintage design piece.
