Private sellerProduct description
This is the Icaro Wall light, an iconic design by Carlo Forcolini for the Italian manufacturer Artemide from 1986. The piece is a striking example of postmodern design, characterized by its sculptural form and the interplay of materials and light.
The lamp is constructed from a combination of a clear glass wing, a perforated steel diffuser, and a metal wall mount. This construction creates a unique lighting effect, where light is diffused both directly and indirectly, creating an atmospheric pattern on the wall. The design is a clear representative of the Italian design aesthetic of the 1980s, where functionality and artistic expression converge.
This piece is in very good vintage condition, consistent with its age and careful use. The materials have retained their original finish and structural integrity, testifying to Artemide's high production quality.
The Icaro Wall light is a characterful statement piece suitable for various spaces, such as a hallway, living room, or bedroom. It fits perfectly within a postmodern, eclectic, or minimalist interior where it can serve as both functional lighting and a decorative object.
