This early twentieth-century desk lamp exemplifies the refined aesthetics of the Art Nouveau period. The piece is distinguished by its architectural silhouette and the striking interplay between its silver-plated framework and vibrant glass accents. Constructed from silver-plated metal, the lamp features a distinctive hexagonal shade adorned with pierced circular motifs. These geometric cutouts reveal rich green glass panels that diffuse light with a warm, atmospheric glow. The curved, angular arm extends from a rectangular base, which incorporates a practical pen tray, reflecting the functional requirements of period study spaces. The fixture has been fitted with a modern fabric-covered cord, ensuring compatibility with contemporary electrical standards while maintaining its historical character. The lamp remains in good structural condition, preserving its original form and detailing. The silver plating exhibits a natural patina developed over decades, adding depth and authenticity to the metalwork. The green glass inserts are intact, and the updated wiring ensures immediate functionality. This luminaire serves as a sophisticated addition to a curated home office or library. Its historical provenance and elegant material composition make it a compelling focal point on a solid wood desk or a classic console table, complementing both traditional and eclectic interiors.
