This Art Nouveau humidor by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) is a striking example of early 20th-century German metalwork. The piece is defined by its elegant combination of materials and the distinctive, stylized horse motif embossed on the lid, characteristic of the era's design language. The humidor features a substantial clear glass body, providing a transparent view of the contents, paired with a brass lid. The lid displays a detailed relief of a horse's head, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship associated with WMF during the Art Nouveau period. The metal exhibits a natural, aged patina, reflecting its history and adding depth to the golden tones of the brass. The maker's mark is visible on the metalwork, authenticating its origin. The condition is consistent with its age and use, retaining its structural integrity while displaying the character of a century-old object. The glass remains clear, and the hinge mechanism functions as intended, preserving the piece's utility and aesthetic appeal. This humidor serves as a refined decorative object for a study, office, or living space. It complements classic, vintage, or eclectic interiors, offering both historical interest and practical storage for small items or cigars.
