Product description
Small flowerpot or jardinière from the Art Nouveau period, crafted from crackle-glazed majolica earthenware, decorated with peonies and floral ornamentation, numbered 4522 on the bottom and marked with the maker's mark of Gustave de Bruyn, late 19th, early 20th century. Gustave De Bruyn (Leuven 1838–1916 Lille) was a Belgian ceramist and the founder of the Fives earthenware factory, based in an industrial suburb of Lille, France. He participated in the 1889 World Exhibition in Paris and received a silver medal for his fine earthenware and cookware. In short, a master in the production and design of decorative and high-quality earthenware, this simplistic flowerpot is therefore a beautiful addition for any collector or enthusiast of Art Nouveau pottery! This flower pot is in very good, undamaged condition, with some fading of the gold decoration but no cracks, breaks, or chips. Check the photos for more details! Dimensions: 25x9x13cm. Weight: 0.639kg.
