About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an authentic wooden wardrobe from the Art Deco period, dating from the 1930s. The piece of furniture embodies the characteristic aesthetic of that era, with a sleek silhouette and geometric details that mark the transition to modernism.
The wardrobe is made of solid wood, presumably oak, with a warm, brown finish that accentuates the natural grain of the material. The construction includes two doors with glass panels in the upper section, offering a view of the internal, adjustable shelves. At the bottom there is a spacious drawer across the entire width, fitted with original metal fittings. The cornice is finished with a stepped, typical Art Deco motif.
The overall condition of the wardrobe is okay, with a characteristic patina consistent with its age. It was treated for woodworm 20 years ago (holes still visible). The piece of furniture has retained its original structure and finish, which contributes to its historical charm and authenticity. The combination of open and closed storage makes it a versatile object. Original locks are still present but do not work (1 key).
This wardrobe functions excellently as a storage unit in a bedroom or hallway, but can also serve as a display cabinet or bookcase in a living room or study. It is a characteristic piece that adds a touch of historical elegance to both a classic and an eclectic interior.
