Beautiful, art deco nightstand made of walnut with a marble top, drawer, shelf and storage cabinet from the 1920's - 1930s, with a design and carvings, typical of the epoch. Although larger than a typical nightstand, the sleek design of the the fins on each side panel, and the curved legs, bring both a certain lightness and elegance to the piece (see photos.) Piece has ample storage, featuring a fully functioning, clean drawer, a storage compartment / shelf beneath it, and below that, a storage cabinet with a fully functional door that opens out and down, and closes up, like a secretary door (see photos.) - The top is made of black and white marble with hues of grey, which really makes it harmonious, with the rich colors of the wood (see photos.) - Both the drawer and lower storage cabinet, have their original chrome, ball-shaped pull knobs, a design from this era. (see photos.) - Both the drawer and the cabinet door, have a lovely, hand-carved design. - Piece rests on wonderful curved feet. Piece is in good, original and vintage condition, with some light signs, marks of age, some slightly faded areas of color, and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall structure, marble top, drawer, inside of the drawer and cabinet, hardware, side panels, storage compartment, the door and legs, as can be expected, for a nearly 100 year old piece (see photos.) Marble has a few old marks of age and previous use (see photos with a 1 cent coin for perspective) on the back edge, and top, right-hand side (see photos with a 1 cent coin for perspective.) Marble has been professionally polished by a marble mason. All photos taken in natural, outdoor light, so colors may vary, based upon brightness, reflections of stone, angles and perspective in which they are viewed.
