About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an Art Deco glass vase from the Polish manufacturer Niemen Glassworks, dating to the 1930s. Its minimalist spherical form and smoky grey hue are characteristic of the period's functionalist design principles, representing a key moment in European glass design.
Crafted from hand-blown glass, the vase features a distinct spherical body with a polished, ground rim. Produced in Poland during the interwar period, this piece is attributed to the renowned Huta Szkła 'Niemen' Juliusza Stolle, a significant glassworks known for its high-quality pressed and blown glass. The transparent grey colouration is integral to the glass itself, a technique popular in Art Deco glassware.
This vase is presented in good vintage condition, consistent with its considerable age and history. The piece retains its original form and the inherent qualities of hand-worked glass, including subtle variations in thickness and clarity that contribute to its unique character.
The object's modest size and timeless silhouette make it a versatile decorative piece. It is well-suited for display on a sideboard, bookshelf, or as part of a curated collection of Art Deco glass, integrating seamlessly into both modern and classic interior schemes.
