Product description
A striking Art Deco vase in luminous uranium crystal, distinguished by its bold, architectural silhouette and elegant stepped base. The form is instantly recognizable to the period—balanced, geometric, and sculptural—capturing the refined modernity of the 1930s.
Executed in finely finished crystal, the vase produces a clear, resonant ring typical of quality glassmaking. Its softly frosted exterior contrasts beautifully with the smooth interior, creating a subtle interplay of texture and light that enhances its sculptural presence.
What truly sets this piece apart is its uranium content. Under ultraviolet light, the glass reveals a vivid, almost electric green glow—an iconic and fascinating feature of uranium glass. Produced by adding small amounts of uranium oxide to the glass mixture, this technique was widely used in the early 20th century but has long since fallen out of regular production. As a result, authentic uranium crystal pieces are becoming increasingly sought after by collectors.
Both decorative and atmospheric, this vase works beautifully as a standalone statement or as part of an Art Deco interior. A rare blend of craftsmanship, history, and visual intrigue—an object that quite literally comes to life in the right light.
