Product description
Art Deco style side table dating from the 1920s–1930s, crafted from solid carved wood and topped with a light veined marble slab.
● The square top features an elegant stepped profile, characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic, and is finished with marble, adding a refined, mineral touch.
● The walnut apron is adorned with flat-carved panels composed of stylized geometric and floral motifs—a central star, palmettes, and radiating lines—emblematic of this era when cabinetmakers favored the fusion of geometric order (the star) and organic fluidity (the flower). This represents the transition from Art Nouveau (all curves) to Art Deco (more rigorous).
● The piece rests on four slender legs, connected by a square, four-leaf walnut veneer lower shelf,
ensuring stability and visual balance while reinforcing the verticality of the piece.
● A piece of furniture representative of meticulous early 20th-century cabinetmaking.
Ideal as a side table, pedestal, or sculpture stand, this piece will perfectly showcase an art object, vase, or lamp.
A decorative piece of character, combining geometric rigor, delicate carving, and noble materials, typical of French Art Deco refinement.
Dimensions:
Top: 26.5 x 26.5 cm
Height: 103 cm
Lower shelf: 21.5 x 21.5 cm
Signs of wear on the corner of the marble top; small chip in the veneer of the lower shelf.
