Private sellerProduct description
This Art Deco style humidor or cigarette box was produced by WMF in Germany during the 1970s. It combines a clear structural base with an intricately decorated lid, reflecting a revival of early 20th-century decorative motifs. The piece is constructed from thick, clear plexiglass, forming a substantial rectangular body with a curved interior designed to hold cigarettes or small cigars. The hinged lid is crafted from silver-toned metal, featuring elaborate, swirling floral and foliate engravings characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic. The WMF maker's mark is visible on the piece, confirming its German origin. The humidor remains in good vintage condition, retaining its structural integrity and the detailed finish of the engraved lid. The clear base provides a striking contrast to the ornate metalwork, highlighting the piece's dual nature as both a functional object and a decorative accent. Ideal for a desk, console, or coffee table, this WMF box serves as an elegant storage solution. Its blend of transparent materials and detailed metalwork makes it a versatile addition to both mid-century and contemporary interiors.
