Product description
Large Art Deco sculpture, a seagull in flight, on a rounded red marble base. The sculpture is presumably made of spelter metal that has been patinated green to resemble bronze, reminiscent of the style of Fritz Diller or Irenee Rochard, circa 1930s-1940s, unsigned.
Impressive and imposing Art Deco sculpture; the piece consists of 2 parts. The seagull slides into the organic, undulating base, so the seagull can be placed in various poses. A very decorative and stylish sculpture with beautiful proportions, a true collector's item for anyone who loves the Art Deco period or the enthusiast of unique animal sculptures.
The sculpture is in excellent vintage condition, showing signs of age and use appropriate for its age, such as a few tiny chips along the edge of the marble base, and a few spots and scratches on the sculpture revealing the underlying metal. Check the photos for more details!
