Private sellerProduct description
Rare Art Deco collectible in the shape of a classic football, with the footballer functioning as a handle. This hand-painted ceramic object is an iconic example of sports memorabilia and design from the interwar period.
Although its shape resembles a teapot, this object originally served as a schnapps or liqueur decanter. In the 1930s, it was part of an exclusive drink set, complete with accompanying shot glasses to serve spirits after a football match.
Attributed to German/Central European manufacture (unmarked)
