Handmade Art Deco 'Cloud Sofa' from a Bavarian master workshop, newly upholstered
This sofa is a unique piece, handcrafted in a Bavarian master carpentry workshop.
The three-part, gently curved backrest in the iconic 'Cloud Sofa' style gives the piece of furniture a special lightness and elegance. Together with the opulent, scroll-shaped armrests and the warm solid wood frame, a charming contrast is created between artisanal monumentality and soft, flowing lines.
Condition & Restoration
Some years ago, the sofa was elaborately and professionally re-upholstered and covered with a high-quality, robust upholstery fabric in elegant dark grey/anthracite. The decorative cords were also completely renewed. The upholstery work was carried out by the carpenter's daughter, herself a trained upholsterer, in the same family business.
The sofa is in excellent, well-maintained condition. The upholstery is firm and absolutely not saggy. The wood shows age-appropriate signs of wear, which contribute to the charm of the piece.
