Product description
A superb ceramic vase in the Art Deco style, designed in the 1930s by Harald Östergren for the prestigious Swedish manufacturer Upsala Ekeby. This vase is a typical example of Östergren's series 1500, hand-decorated and signed by Einar Törning, showcasing bold organic shapes contrasted with graphic surface decoration—two hallmark characteristics of Scandinavian Art Deco and 'Swedish Grace' design. Crafted in a black glaze, this vase features golden organic motifs that create a striking contrast, resulting in a dynamic interplay between colours and shapes. Both sculptural and decorative, the design captures the confident modernism of the era while remaining timelessly appealing. The vase bears Einar Törning's monogram on the bottom.
