Lejan for Orchies – Bateau Caravelle – Art Deco ceramic
Beautiful and rare Art Deco ceramic sculpture of a sailing ship, designed by Lejan and produced by Orchies in France, circa 1920. The piece depicts a stylised caravelle, finished in an ivory white original crackle glaze with a subtle sheen. The flowing curves of the sails and the geometric details of the hull are typical of the Art Deco style, combining clean lines with stylised decoration.
The original crackle glaze is authentic and evenly distributed, giving the piece a rich vintage character. It is in good condition with only light signs of age consistent with its period.
